It’s possible to prevent vision loss ,but you cannot prevent floaters and flashes .prevent vision loss by recognizing the symptoms of retinal tear or retinal detachment . 

  
-Check your eye vision every 3 months or 6 in each one of your eyes,to make sure there is no floaters or flashes in your vision . 

-put your hand on one of your eyes and covering it ,pick up a point straight ahead to look at , count the number of floaters and flashes , pay attention to how dense the floaters and flashes are . 

In some cases you should see your eye doctor : 

-never seen floaters or hear about them before , but in a sudden moment you start seeing a lot of eye floaters and flashes . 

-sudden moment you notice an increase in numbers of eye floaters and flashes . 

-a curtain or gray area appear in your side vision . 

-you have had floaters months or years a go ,but now they look different then they used to . 

-your floaters interface with your routine activities for example reading or driving . 

-you had floaters in one eye long time ago , but now have floaters and flashes in the other eye . 

taking care of your eyes health and having a regular eye exam is very important ,if you experience floaters and flashes contact your eye doctor , he may be able to fix and treat the eye problem before it causes vision loss.
